Foothills Creamery - Compressor and Condenser Replacement

Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) provided EPC services for Foothills Creamery to replace an aging compressor and condenser at their Calgary facility.

The facility produces 25000 lb/d of Butter, 8000 L/d of Hard Ice Cream, and 6000 L/d of Soft Ice Cream. The products are either stored in a blast freezer at -30°C or the regular freezer at -23°C.

Project scope included:

• Removal of two (2) Mycom N6WA 20 hp Reciprocating Compressors and associated equipment
• Removal of Toromont ATC-150 condenser and associated equipment
• Installation of Mycom N160VLD-TE 125 hp Screw Compressor Package and associated equipment
• Installation of EXEL VTO-41-J Condenser c/w Cooler Sump Pump (3 hp 125 US gpm), Exchanger Supply Pump (3 hp, 45 US gpm), Sump Tank (400 gallon)
