Renewable Fuels
Engineering and execution of renewable fuel and energy transition infrastructure.
- Who We Are
Renewable Fuel & Energy Transition
Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) provides services for renewable fuels, renewable natural gas (RNG), hydrogen systems, and emerging low-carbon energy technologies. Drawing on decades of experience in gas processing, liquids refining, and modular facility design, GLE has delivered operating renewable energy facilities across multiple industries.
Our work spans biofuels production, hydrogen infrastructure, RNG systems, and advanced fuel conversion technologies including sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel. These projects frequently involve complex separations, high-purity products, and integration with existing industrial infrastructure — areas where GLE’s experience provides significant advantage.

- Advantage
Decades of gas processing & liquids refining experience applied to next-generation energy infrastructure.
- Fuel Conversion
Renewable Fuel Conversion
GLE supports the development of facilities that convert renewable feedstocks into transportation fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), renewable diesel, and other refined fuel products.
These facilities process a wide range of renewable feedstocks including ethanol, vegetable oils, waste oils, and other biomass-derived intermediates. Engineering scope typically includes:
- Feedstock handling systems
- Catalytic conversion units
- Hydrogen integration
- Fractionation and product finishing systems
- Storage and logistics infrastructure integration
- Regulatory compliance
- GLE routinely designs facilities around our clients' preferred licensed process technologies, integrating proprietary process units with utilities, balance-of-plant systems, and product handling infrastructure to deliver complete operating facilities.
- RNG & Biogas
Renewable Natural Gas & Biogas Systems
GLE has engineered and executed systems that capture and utilize biogas from agricultural, food processing, and industrial waste streams.
These projects convert waste gas streams into usable fuel for boilers, power generation systems, or pipeline-quality renewable natural gas (RNG). Engineering scope typically includes:
- Gas capture systems
- RNG, conditioning and compression
- Condensate management
- Pipelines and infrastructure integration
- Integration with existing plant energy systems
These facilities improve plant efficiency while reducing emissions by recovering methane that would otherwise be vented or flared.
- Hydrogen & Advanced Energy
Hydrogen & Advanced Energy Systems
GLE is actively involved in hydrogen production, storage, and utilization systems.
Our experience includes electrolyzer facilities, hydrogen blending infrastructure, compression systems, storage facilities, and underground hydrogen storage. These projects require specialized materials selection, safety systems, and integration with existing gas infrastructure — areas where GLE’s experience with complex gas processing systems provides strong technical capability.

Geothermal & Waste Heat Energy Recovery
GLE has also been involved in projects focused on recovering useful energy from geothermal sources and industrial heat streams.
These systems often utilize Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology to convert low-grade heat into electricity. GLE has supported projects recovering thermal energy from biomass and biofuel processes, including systems extracting usable power from wood-based feedstocks and other renewable heat sources.
